It was quite a cold day outside in the woods. The solstice has changed from fall to winter as time passed.
Swift Vilunim carried all her equipment in a big hiking knapsack as the cooking pots and pans jingled and jangled around making metal clattering noises. However, she was having trouble carrying the huge loot of her stuff as she began sweating and losing strength.
Before she came into a round circular clearing out in the meadows, Swift felt relieved and wiped sweat off her forehead and pushed back. But the minute she lost balance, she fell down with the heavy knapsack on her back outweighing her. She kicked her legs up in the air and wiggled to break free.
"Little help here?" Swift asked. But not even a sign of a ranger was around the premises to help her out. "Okay, never mind then," she sighed and managed to get up from her knapsack.

before the dawn of the day
as the snowflakes slowly fall
along the winding way
the softest white blanket,
muffling sounds of shattering glass
as another heart falls to ground
red rosettes left dying amidst the grass
as blood drips slowly on newborn snow
fading to ash on this day
none will know
in winter's icy grip lay the dying dreams
becoming a white death shrowd,
silencing broken screams
as sunlight tears through the numbing mist
it slowly falls against lips never kissed
that on this the day of broken hearts
doomed from the start
written in crimson
against the dying snow

for wanting so badly what i will never know
